Here's a place for the third part of your presentation. And to the right, there are subsections for more specific detail.
Mood-How does the poem make you feel? What emotions are evoked because of the language being used?
The poet used language that made me feel inspired. When she talked, you could tell that she talked from experience, and that she went through the things she described. I think she wanted to share that you are not alone. She knew how hard it was to go through bullying or whatever she went throug, & she didn't want others to go through the same thing.
Tone-How does the author feel or
want you to feel when you read the poem?
When reading the poem, the author wants us to feel that we are not alone. When writing this poem, the author probably thought of everything she went through, and how many other people went through the same thing.
Do you really have nothing else to do with your lifw????????????????????
Here's a place for the fourth part of your presentation. And to the right, there are subsections for more specific detail.
The main subject of the poem is bullying. It's about knowing that there is someone out there, someone who can help & support you. The author is trying to say that she knows how hard it is, and that you're not alone.
There is a lot of symbolism used in this poem, mainly using objects to symbolize specific things. In this example; "Some people's fathers are like attics" attics are used to represnt fathers, in the sence that they are scary and dark. Most of the symbolism in the poem is used to represent different ways of responding to bullying.
The centeral message that the author is trying to say is that you are not alone. Whatever you're going through, you can always ask for help from people you trust. You need to know that even if now you can't see the light, you're going to have a bright future just because of what you learned from that experience.
The title "Letter to the Playground Bully" sets the context of the poem because it gives the reader a feeling of what they're about to read, but it also telles us that this poem is about showing the bullies that it's their loss if they want to treat us the way they treat us, because we will always rise up again.
How are the line breaks structured?
How are the stanzas organized?
These are meaningless side notes and I feel sorry for you if you read these. .
The poem itself has no specific shape to indicate a specific feeling. Although the poem doesn't have a shape, there are many line breaks throughout the poem, mainly using the word "And" to separate the lines. In this example,
"That our hearts stop for a millisecond every time we sneeze
And some people's houses have too much dust." the line break is present when using "and" to start a new line. The stanzas in this poem have different lengths, & they are usually used to start talking about a different part of the topic.
Although there is punctuation in the poem, most of the lines are separated by line breaks instead of periods or commas. Most of the times when the author does use punctuation is when she wants to start a new topic, or when she wants to expand on a specific feeling or emotion. Most of the punctuation in the poem are commas & periods, so there isn't any intense feelings that she could add with an exclamation or question mark.
Since the poem doesn't have a specific structure, it doesn't affect the meaning of the poem. If the structure was a specific shape, it might have given the reader a specific feeling about the poem.
Meaning
Nothing really to see here. if you're still reading this you might be the flash.!

Like many poems, this poem has a lot of figurative language. Some of the main figurative language devices which are present in this poem are symbolism, similes, & personification.
There are many different examples of symbolism in this poem. In this sentence;
It is a fact that bumblebees have hair on their eyes
And humans, also, should comb through everything they see; this is an example of symbolism because the author compares bees & humans, saying that humans should adjust everything they see to be nice & pretty. The author is trying to say that humans try to ignore the bad things and look only on the good things, when we should really be focusing on how we could make those bad thing better.
In this sentence; So I am clean as a whistle on a tea pot. The poet is comparing two things; cleanliness and a whistle on a tea pot. The whistle is clean and sharp, just as the author describes. She is saying that she is clean of all the world's hatred & greed, just like a sharp whistle. We also know that it is a simile and not a metaphor because it uses the word "as" in the sentence.
The personification in this poem is as follows: My mother says most people have heartbeats that are knocking on doors that will never open. Hearts are given a human characteristic (knocking), and are said to be knocking on doors that will never open. I think this represents how most people want to make a change in the world but are too afraid to say something.
One of the main sound device present in the poem is assonance. In this sentence; I know some people get a whole lot of rocking in the rocking chair. The constant "O" sound makes the sentence more appealing, but at the same time can add more value to the words.
There is sensory language in the poem, mostly using sight. In the next sentence, both sight & sound are being used; 'couse I know all of us are scratched,
Even if you can't hear it when we speak. When the poet uses sensory language, it allows us to visualize what the poet is talking about; it makes us feel involved in the text.
