Task 2

Statement of Purpose

With times of innovation and creativity being important, it is my intentions to foster a positive and collaborative learning environment that communicates in all aspects to obtain success. With new administration across the district and schools, it is pertinent for us to work as a team to have our students excel to obtain accreditation. My goal is to use this plan to assist with the academic improvement of our students.

Task 3

Mission

To create a thriving school environment that produces, creates, develops, and maintains a safe, clean, and nurturing environment for students, parents, staff and the community.

Through partnerships we will produce citizens who are academically, socially and emotionally prepared to advance to the next phase of their educational development.

Task 4

Goals & Objectives

1. Establish a positive climate and culture with parents, community members, students, and staff.

2. Establish a team of teacher leaders to build trust and collaboration within the staff.

3. Perform a needs assessment to give stakeholders (students, staff, and parents) the chance to be heard and provide feedback. Use assessment to create a unified mission and vision.

4. Identify strengths and weaknesses of needs assessment to establish a successful plan of improvement.

Task 5

Goal #1: Establish a positive climate and culture with parents, community members, students, and staff.

Actions:

  • Create and distribute introductory letter to all staff, parents, and community members
  • Meet with each staff member one-one-one
  • Meet with grade levels, specialists, and exceptional ed. compiance
  • Arrange/Host back-to-school night to discuss vision, mission, goals, and expectations with all stakeholders
  • Publish monthly school newsletters

Goal # 1: Actions Continued

  • Create and sustain school social media website that contains news and updates
  • Establish PBIS and professional developments for all staff to use PBIS in uniform
  • Establish open door policy for stakeholders to feel comfortable to communicate
  • Become visible throughout the day before and after school and by conducting observations
  • Send weekly emails notifying the staff of the week’s agenda prior to the week starting
  • Provide incentives for outstanding achievement for students and staff

Task 6

Goal #2: Establish a team of teacher leaders to build trust and collaboration within the staff.

Actions:

  • Meet with veteran teachers, counselors, and specialists in the building and establish a leadership team
  • Host new teacher/staff meeting to get staff familiar with school and routine
  • Create student and staff handbook
  • Establish vision and mission statement and goals that align with yearly expectations.

  • Assign roles within the team
  • Meet with team monthly throughout the year
  • Hold professional developments where members from the team are in charge
  • Have teacher team members conduct peer observations to provide feedback to their peers and learn from one another

Goal #3: Perform a needs assessment to give stakeholders the chance to be heard and provide feedback.

Actions:

  • Conduct and distribute needs assessment to staff addressing instructional/building concerns
  • Conduct and distribute needs assessment to community stakeholders
  • Hold questions and answers forum discussing needs
  • Analyze school SOL data from previous three years
  • Establish grade level focus groups for students and teachers to have students to discuss needs and concerns
  • Establish parent/volunteer group to have parents more visible in the school
  • Reach out to community members for donations/resources

Task 8

Goal #4: Identify strengths and weaknesses of needs assessment to create a successful plan of improvement.

Actions:

  • Review data and surveys in regards to needs assessment
  • Meet with various stakeholders to discuss findings of needs assessments and provide insight/feedback
  • Establish goals in alignment with weaknesses with staff

  • Hold quarterly progress meetings with staff and stakeholders
  • Create a school improvement plan based off of the needs assessment
  • Provide professional developments to cater to weaknesses
  • Modify school improvement plan as needed

Task 9

Operational Action Steps

  • Review district’s policy and procedures
  • Review bus schedules and routes pertaining to school
  • Review previous year’s financial budget and expenditures
  • Establish grade levels and teaching positions
  • Draft a master schedule
  • Review student IEP data and exceptional education teachers
  • Review school size and class size
  • Meet with Assistant Principal, School Specialists, and Counselor to discuss/create events and upcoming calendar
  • Conduct walkthrough with Custodial Chief to discuss maintenance and fixtures
  • Meet with Assistant Principal to review emergency plan and procedures
  • Review PBIS and data and meet with district PBIS Coordinator
