The Christ the Redeemer or Cristo del Corcovado is an Art Deco statue representing Jesus of Nazareth, with open arms, showing the city of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The statue stands thirty meters high on an eight meter pedestal

In April 4 of 1922 the construction started, in 1931 finished.
It is called Christ the Redeemer, it represents Jesus of Nazareth and it took almost half a century to build, since the original idea comes from the time of Princess Isabel of Portugal.
