Technician Training Timeline
Week 1
- Begin the Safety Training and understand the potential hazards and risks at a job site. Examples of this training are
- OSHA 10 hour construction training
- Ammonia awareness
- Electrical Safety
1-3 months
- The technician should have the knowledge from the Safety training neccissary to shadow an experienced Technician on site safetly and proficiently
- Continuinuing to progress through the safety training
1st Year
- Understand the fundamentals of the industry and can confidently shadow and help an experienced technician on site safetly.
- Better undersatdning of the refrigerants and the refrigeration cycle.
- Completed RETA manual 1 and passed the end of unit assessment
2nd Year
- The Technician will start to complete smaller jobs alone to a high standard safely.
- Completed RETA 2 manual and passes the assessment
- Completed Danfoss Valve Training
- Completed Frick Product Maintenance
- Lanier Technical School
- Can Complete a Non ammonia System Start
3rd Year
- The Technician can complete the smaller jobs proficiently alone and can work alongside experienced technicians for the bigger jobs.
- Completed RETA 3 Manual and passed the assessment
- CO2 System Operation
- Completed all screw compressor startup training
4th Year
- Can confidently work alongside others with whatever scenario.
- Completed RETA 4 manuaal and passed the assessment
- Completed Bitzer Compressor School
- Completed Vilter Commision training
- CompletedAmmonia System Commision training
5th Year
- The technician has completed all the training and can solve any problems they may encounter safely and accurately.
- Completed all Health and Safety Training
- Able to mentor the new technicians that have joined Kelvin University.
