Five Inventors of the Glilded Age

Alexander Graham Bell was born on March 3rd 1847. He was a Scientist Inventor engineer and innovator. He invented the first telephone it was invented in 1876. He also founded the American Telephone and Telegraph company in 1885. This affected the United states by making it easier for people to communicate.

Elisha Graves Otis was born on August 13th 1811. He founded the Otis elevator company in 1853. He also invented an elevator safety device that when/if the hosting cables fail the device prevented the elevator from falling. This affected the united states by helping make elevators safer for people.

William Le Baron Jenney

William Le Baron Jenney was born on September 25 1832. He is an architect and a engineer. He is most known for building the first skyscraper in 1884-1885. He also is known as the father of the American skyscraper. This affected the united states by conserving more space when the could not build out anymore they decided to move up.

Thomas Edison was born on February 11th 1847. He invented the lightbulb in on December 31 1879. This affected the united States because it made it cheaper to have light. He also invented the phonograph in 1877. This invention affected the united states because it made it so they could take pictures of things so we have them now. Another invention of Thomas Edison is the motion picture camera in 1892. This affected the united states because they could make videos.

Alfred Ely Beach was born on september 1st 1826. He was an iventor, pubblisher and patent lawyer. He ivented the subway in 1869. This affected the unted states becaue travle was hard so this made it easier to travel.
