Causes of the Industrial Revolution

Nina Grosso & Aiyanna Goodrich

Agrarian Revolution

The Agrarian Revolution was a shift in farming practices that resulted in increased food production. New farming equipment, such as the seed drill and better fertilizers, propelled this revolution. Due to the increased availability of food, this revolution in farming created a population explosion. Furthermore, the Enclosure Movement, which involved the consolidation of numerous small farms into a single huge property, resulted in many people losing their jobs and becoming homeless. These people would be the Industrial Revolution's workforce.
