forensic tools
In 1976, Bundy was tried for the murder of Caryn Campbell. The primary forensic technique used in his prosecution was hair analysis. Strands of her hair were found in his car and other evidence proves he was near the ski-lodge she was staying at the night of her death. Another forensic tool used by prosecution to prove him worthy of the death penalty in his third and final trial was dental record comparisons.
evidence
-Caryn Campbells hair found.
-Florida state testimonies.
-Matching dental records.

trial i
Bundys first trial took place in Utah on Febuary 23rd, 1976. He was tried for the kidnapping of DeRonch, found guilty,
and sentenced to a 1-15 year sentence.
Investigators who were dissatisfied with these results gathered enough evidence to try him for the murder of Caryn Campbell. He made the choice to represent himself in court and then shortly after jumped 2 stories to escape. He was caught 8 days later. A few months after that, in December 1977, he escaped again.

Trial 2
trial ii
After fleeing his first trial, Bundy attacked 4 students from Florida State University. Unfortunately getting away with it led him to sexually assault and strangle 12 year old Kimberly Leach. In his second trial he was fighting allegations from the 2 survivors of the Florida State University. He was found guilty through the confessions and very convincing dental comparison.
TRIAL III
His third trial was for the murder of Kimberly Leach. His defense pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity but he was ultimately found guilty and sent to the electric chair. He was executed on February 7th, 1980.
