Story: The "Outsider"

His impact

This very particular character is also the narrator of the story and, due to his reclusion in an ancient and isolated castle where he can't even see the light of the outside world, he doesn't know how he looks like.

His desire to see the appearence of the world behind the walls of his prison brings him to climb the tallest tower of the building, which it's the only one that brings to an exit, just to find out that, at the top, there's inexplicably another tract of land, just like a second world.

Exploring this new land, he finds a building with lots of people in it, but, when he enters the structure, everyone screams at his sight.

It's then that, looking for the first time at himself in a mirror, he finds out that he is a monster.

Twists

Plot and Twists

The main twist and central element of the story is the revelation of the outsider's real appearence, event that had already been anticipated different times in the course of the narration and that, at the end, led to the complete self-isolation of the main character, even if mentally he knew everything there was to know about being human.

I he fact that the humans in the building reacts so roudly to the sight of the outsider's appearence

Review

PersonalOpinion

Personal review

I personally really liked this gothic short story, especially because of its plot and final twist.

The story has a suspenseful and intriguing plot, with a shocking twist at the end that reveals the true nature of the protagonist. The descriptions of the castle and the outside world are beautifully written, and the atmosphere is eerie and unsettling.

Overall, I would highly recommend "The Outsider" to fans of horror and mystery. The plot is well-crafted and the twist is sure to surprise and satisfy readers.

Maybe someone would put this book just in the thriller category, but I would precise it is a psycological thriller, because it makes you see the world with the eyes of what we call a monster, changing your ideals by using the point of view and the thoughs of the creature.

Personal Opinion

Reading this book I

noticed a little similarity

with the reality that we

are living right now: the

Outsider knew everything about living like a human (he learned it by himself), even so, the other humans got scared by his appearence and decided to isolate him untill he understood the situation, looking at the mirror.

I've matched this succesion of events with the

reality that we're still living today, the racism, where everyone judges the others from their looking and not for what they really are.
