The MDGs represent an attempt to make the global economy and its achievements to work for the benefit of all countries, especially developing and poor countries. ​

Russian civil society is in the middle of the transition from the stage of weak development to the stage of a developed civil society corresponding to the conditions of democracy.

Strengths:

  • socio-economic environment,
  • development of social capital in the community,
  • active informing citizens,
  • civil education.

  • Socio-economic environment does not pose serious difficulties for the development of civil society, with the exception of the underdeveloped culture of trust.

  • Political and legal environment needs serious improvement.

  • The eradication of poverty and increase opportunities for marginalized groups also are not in the focus of attention of civil society.

The abolition of direct elections of heads of subjects of the Russian Federation and the restriction of public policy don't promote increase in civil activity of the population
