The beginning of the manga was beginning of Yu-Gi-Oh as a whole. It was created by Kazuki Takahashi, which was inspired by his fans and friends, also by pre-existing card games

The aspect of monsters was always a thing in Yu-Gi-Oh, but the focus wasn't really set on them until 1999. With the game taking inspiration from other card games such as magic the gathering. It became such a success that it is amongst the top 3 highest grossing card games of all time

Show Debut

The show had it's debut on April 18, 2004 after much success from the manga and card game. The Anime focused more on the card game aspect as it's what interested viewers. New versions of the show are still being released

2000's

Game goes online

Yu-Gi-Oh Online

Yu-Gi-Oh made it's first online showing in November of 2005 with quite the simple name, that being Yu-Gi-Oh!. There are a total of 56 games with the most recent one being Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel. This game was released in 2022, and with it came a slight resurgance.

R.I.P Kazuki Takahashi

Kazuki Takahashi, the creator of Yu-Gi-Oh, passed on July 4th after a tragic accident after trying to save someone from drowning. Sadly he wasn't able to save either, but he put up a heroic effort, and one we will always appreciate. He was a hero to many, and his cards will continue to play that role for many more years.
