Why is this

happening

How are we going to identify and describe each layer??

Emergent Layer

Layers of the Rainforests

Trees are towering in as much as 200 ft. above the forest floor and trunks measure up to 16 ft.

These trees take up a lot of sunlight but are also exposed to wind. They have long and straight trunks with few branches. They are house for many birds and insects.

Canopy

Layers of the Rainforest

It has tall slender trees from a dense platform of vegetation with 60 to 130 feet off the ground. It forms a roof of the remaining two layers.

Layers of Rainforest

Understory Layer

This layer rises from 60 ft and consists of trunks of canopy, shrubs, small plants, and trees. It has dark and cool environment. The understory has a large number of insect life.
