- Sor Juana destacó a lo largo de su infancia por ser una niña con grandes capacidades intelectuales,entre las que se resalta haber aprendido a leer y escribir con tres años de edad
- A los ocho años escribió su primera loa compuesta al Santísimo Sacramento con versos tanto en español como en náhuatl, lengua que aprendió junto a los esclavos de la hacienda de su abuelo
