Scientific Theories
There are numerous scientific theories on how the universe was created, a famous one known widely is the Big Bang Theory by Steven W. Hawking. A very simplized version of saying this theory is basically saying, that the ancient star had a huge supernova that created everything.
However, there are numerous other theories on how our solar system was formed other than the Big bang theory.

The Nebular Theory
Just like the Big bang Theory on how everything has started. The Nebular theory is also the most accepted scientific theory on how the solar system forged.
-Nebula: cloud of dust and gases in space (believed as an area of star formation).
In this theory, it explains that after the Sun formed, the solar wind was blewn against the nebula from which it formed - this pushed the gas and the dusts away from the sun- leftover dusts, gases and other remainings in the nebula continued to spin - creates multiple planets, moons and asteroids and even comets.

Astronomer Alan Boss's theory.
Alan Boss an astronomer proposed to the world an another theory of solar system formation. He believed that nebular theory doesn't explain the formation of the planets Uranus and Neptune (considered gas giants).
Boss's theory states that the formation of the outer planets was affected by another young star nearby. This star that he states was supposedly had a bigger size than the Sun, obtained extreme heat, and emitted (produce and discharge) extreme UV radiation as well.
Basically as a result, these 2 stars was pushed out of their galaxy because of the nebula or the explosion and sent these 2 stars to the calmer part of the galaxy.
Gas Giants: large planets mainly made out of gases. (hellium and hydrogen.)

- Religion has their own theories on how everything was created. Their theories are very unlike the scientific. Their theories are more spiritual.

In the bible, specifically Gensis 1-2.
As a brief explanation:
1st day: He created Heaven and the Earth. Light and Darkness.
2nd day: He brought water and called the watered land sea, and the dry land earth. In earth, he brought grass, fields, fruit trees.
3rd day: He divided the time to day and night.
4th day:He created animals that lived in the sea.
5th day: He created animals that lived in the earth. Including animals. All living organism in the land.
6th day:And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.
7th day: He rested
Although Christian and Catheolic are similar but different religion they both follow the same God. Through this fact, they both follow the theory of Creation in the 7 days.

Buddhism
In Buddhism, the monks and the followers were acknowledged by Buddha, that everything began when the Earth and other planets and stars forged on its own. Through this natural forgement of planets, air, water (seas, oceans) was brought to earth.
But however, they said that Budda didn't answer the question on where the humans came from. This may sound confusing, but many things are undefined in the Buddhism's creation story.

FN and the Metis people follow the belief of animalism and that everything has spirit.
Through this fact, they've created many stories based on how everything was created.
Some of the creation stories include: The turtle island and the Sky world. These 2 stories explain the existence of the Earth (Turtle island) and the heavens (Sky World).

Greece.
In greeks belief, they first define that the beginning of everything started as Chaos. Eventually, love was born and then resulted in creating Gaia. As time passed, she slept with her son Uranus (sky god) and got many sons and daughters. However, Uranus was a horrible father which led to a result of losing his penis, specifically, cutt off by Chronos, the youngest out of all the children (WE ARE MATURE).
Later on, Chronos ruled and put his brothers, the Cyclopes and the Hecatoncheires in Tartarus (hell prison). Later on, Gaia was angry of what he had done and gave him a prophecy that one of his children would overthrow his kingdom.
Brief explanation on what happened after: Chronos decided to eat his children - Rhea (wife of Chronos) saved Zeus, by giving a rock to chronos-Zeus gre older-eventually led to him on getting his sibilings.

How Planets/Stars Form
Planets form by rocks colliding into each other because of their singular gravitational pull. However, through this fact, once the mass and the size gets bigger by colliding more rocks and dusts into one whole size, it redeems an increased gravitational pull that allows to pull even more rocks. That's how the planets form eventually.
Comets and Asteriods form by the leftover rocky renaments from the early formation of our solar system. But Asteriods form by leftover gas and materials from the early formation of our solar system.

Supernova - Nebula - nebula collapses into disks of dust and gases - disks grow = become younger stars - remaining mass formed planets.
