The use of social media nowadays is a cause for concern.A majority of current attacks simply use social platforms as a delivery mechanism and every 6th cybercrime in Indiais committed through social media.

Netiquette is defined as the rules about the proper and polite way to communicate with other people when you are using the Internet.

3.It is a way of evaluating candidates by reviewing their social networking identity.

TYPES OF NETIQUETTE
It stands for sets of standards for online conduct and how should one behave in a digital environment.
*Using mobile phones while talking to someone is an insult to that person.
*Texting while carrying on a conversion with someone is very rude and shows disrespect.
*Using mobile phones in classroom , meetings and social gatherings.
*Texting or calling others late night.
*Playing audios and videos loudly.
Respect the opinions of your classmates. If you feel the need to disagree, do so respectfully and acknowledge the valid points in your classmate's argument.
Posting hurtful comments, mean-spirited
rumors and embarrassing photos, is a
pretty common online occurrence. Such
posts spread quickly and cause immense harm to someone.
Lack of sensitivity can impact friendships
and create unnecessary tension in network and community.
Treat others the way you wished to be treated.
Take an active role in building positive, supportive online communities. Things that you can contribute to a positive online environment:
As a responsible digital citizen,
always review your messages and posts to be sure that they are not untruthful, negative, sarcastic or
rude.
Misleading others is a major breach of
online etiquette. This is true even if it is unintentional.
Avoid posting anything that us not true
such as rumors or gossip. So do not be
naive to forward any message hoping it
will bring good luck. Many viruses are
spread via chain messages and invitations.
If you wish to forward information make
sure it is verified and shared with people
you know.
Forwarding messages without checking their accuracy may contribute to the phenomenon of fake news and rumor mongering.
*Double check the message before hitting the send key.
*Pause and think about your posts , comments and e-mails before you send it.
Sometimes a message that is ment to be funny, may not come off that way at all because the person on the other end cannot see your real facial expression or hear the tone of your voice.
Do not reveal the information online or offline if the answer to the following questions was "yes".
>Was this information supposed to be confidential?
>Will it embarass the source of information?
>Will sharing this information compromises someone's privacy?
If answers to these questions is "yes", do not reveal the information.
Always ask permission before uploading someone's pictures and posting personal details.
Cyberbullying-The use of electronic communication to bully a person, typically by sending messages of an intimidating or threatening nature.
Cyberstalking-The use of the Internet or other electronic means to stalk or harass an individual, group, or organization. It may include false accusations, defamation, slander and libel.
Hence it is very important to know what is right and wrong
