Who:Freidrich Wilhelm Adam Serturner
Where: Germany
When:1803
Why: It was considered a "painkiller" back in the 1800s, and is still considered that to this day. Even solders today always carry a combat first aid kit with a Syrette of Morphine on them when fighting.
this changed the world by giving us a new way to stop pain.Morphine is a great example of having a great item to help with pain, but can also cause it in the process if you take too much. As stated in the Costs it can cause a ton of different problems, but also can benifit as stated on the benifits pages.
morphine can cause an addiction to it, can cause life threatinging breathing problems (only withn the first 72 hours of using morphine), and taking other medicine can cause even ore problems.
Morphine is used a ton in todays world as a painkiller. as stated in the information slide of Morphine, its being used in the military in some contries, the best use for it is when you are having a child, Or moderate to severe pain.
Who:Hiram Maxim
When:1884
Where:England
Why: around the late 1870s to early 1880s, somone told maxim that "if he wanted to make a fortune, he should invent a weapon that can help the europeans kill eachother. then the maxim heavy machine gun was made.
The costs of this gun were that it wasnt that high of a fire rate (compaired to guns in the 21st century) , being only 550 to 600 RPM. It also was water cooled, which could be really bad for the gun if it runs out of water. finally, it was extremly heavy, weighing at 136 pounds.
the original american blueprints.
<---
The benifit of this gun is that it was Water-cooled, which was benifitial against air cooled guns, but there is cons (in cons subtopic). it also was a super heavy hitter, firing 0.450" (11.4 mm) Martini-Henry cartridge rounds.

The maxim machine gun was easily one of the most powerful guns of its age, domiating the first and second world wars. This beast of a weapon was insanely over-powered if you are using it with a pit crew (1 gunner, 5 medics) . it was easiy one of if not THE most powerful weapon during its usage.

When: 1990
Who: Don Bitzer, Gene Slottow, and Robert Willson
Where: University Of Illinois
Why: The new display was needed for the PLATO learning system created by Donald Bitzer
the composition of the display
Color plasma display is really cool but had some really bad costs, including the tv screen burn in with too much use, this can ONLY happen if the screen is used for an extreme amount of time.
The arrow is pointing at where the clock on a chrome cast is, that is burnt in.
Color plasma displays have a ton of benifits, for example, virtually less to no motion blur, wide viewing angle, more pixles per inch, and more.
PLATO computer terminal, the first Color Plasma display.
this invention was a massive breakthrough with television, it was probably one of if not THE BIGGEST push forward in television history, almost no costs, really powerful screen, who wouldnt want this?
