Students & Teachers
TED-Ed is designed for both the Educator and the Learner. When you create your account, you select the option whether you are a Student, or an Educator.
Both options have the ability to discover, create, and share lessons. The difference is one will be from the Student's perspective, and the other from the Teacher's perspective.
You will find in the Discover tab of the menu all sorts of video-based lessons with additional learning tools on the right.
There is also the TED-Ed blog under the Discover tab, which has educational articles available to read.
Under the Create tab you can find where you go to make lessons on any subject you like.
In the Create section you can also get involved with doing your own TED style talks. Students can apply to learn how to do Student-led TED style talks, and Educators can enroll to do Educator-led TED style talks.
Join in on Discussions about lessons with other Learners and Educators. You can quickly locate all your Discussions under the Manage tab.
Creating a Lesson is very simple and straightforward. Simply navigate to the "Create" tab in the menu and select "Lesson." Then enter into the search bar what your topic is that you want to create a lesson about.
1. Search your Topic
2. Select a video you like for your lesson and click "Continue"
Next you will be brought to a page that lets you format different parts of your lesson. Simply click the plus sign on each topic area and it will prompt you to fill in the information for your students.
When completed, click the Publish button
After publishing, you will be brought to your "Manage" page which is accessible in the menu bar. It shows you all your lessons you've made and you can edit them from here.
Click on any lesson to see from the viewer's perspective. The links to the right of the video will take you through the course of the lesson.
