Strategic Plan

  • Beginning with the 2023-2024 school year, we will adopt one of the seven major themes (life and dignity of the human person, call to family, community and participation, rights and responsibilities, option for the poor and vulnerable, dignity of work and the rights of workers, solidarity, and care for God’s creation) from Catholic Social teachings each year and build curriculum planning and action plans around each central theme.
  • This should be a K-12 effort and conversations should be held starting with the mission team. This goal also includes a family component and a parish component as we want to unite all stakeholders.
  • Call to family, community and participation
  • Minimum of a quarterly activity as related to Catholic Social Teachings
  • theme: Call to famiy community and particpation.

Strategic plan cont'd

• RCS will assist all stakeholders in understanding the purpose of assessment, application of research-based assessment practices, and appraisal of equitable grading practices as related to student progress and reporting.

  • Staff will receive applicable training.
  • Identification of power standards
  • RCS will identify a maximum of five power standards for each grade level and/or subject area taught by means of collaboration with one grade level up and one grade level down.

• Continue to encourage a culture of professional collaboration RCS will continue to be intentional with the professional Learning Community structures previously put in place to allow staff to commit to learning and using researched based instructional practices.

Religious Identity

Religious identity

  • Academic excellence is crucial, but without our Catholic identity, we cease to have a defensible reason to exist.
  • Goal for this year is prayer:

1.) How can we continue to work on this?

2.) What resources are there for prayers?

3.) Prayer/corner how we decorate the classroom is important.

  • How do people entering my classroom know that it is part of the

ministry of the Catholic Church?

4.) How can we build on what accreditation affirmed?

Religious identity

  • Not only what our school looks like but how we interact with students and staff is important.
  • This year we are looking to do the ACRE test in 5th and 8th grade in March.
  • Give a good idea of our students and religious identity.
  • Looking to create a group to investigate new religious curriculum.
  • Adoration - Second Friday of each month at 8 am - Fr. Matt Colle
  • Mass Intentions for Mass on Wednesdays found in bulletin.
