Where did they come from and why did they immigrant?

Where and Why?

Most of where the immigrants came from were from

Central, Eastern and Southern Europe. The

reason they came was because they were looking

for greater opportunities in the US

and also because of fleeing

crop failure, land and job shortages.

The hardships getting into America

They would have to travel through sea, have such small space in a ship. They were willing to accept lower wages and working conditions and many other hard things.

Annie Moore was the first immigrant to arrive to Ellis Island. Annie Moore was a teenage girl and she was from Ireland. The year was 1892. Annie had 2 siblings and they were Anthony Moore, and Phillip Moore which who she traveled with. Her parent's were Matthew Moore and Julia Moore. Annie birthday was on April 24th, 1874. She lived poor but she was very strong. She died on December 6th, 1924. There is now a sculptor of her.

Mexico, China, India, Philippines, and El Salvador.

There are 4 types of immigrants. Citizens, Residents, non-immigrants, and undocumented immigrants. When coming to America most tend having to say goodbye to loved ones and they have to adapt to many new things.
