Forms of Government - Past to Present

1850 - 1917

Monarchy- When it is being ruled by one person, most often through family kins (aka hereditary)

Modern equivalent is Constitiutional monarchy- where there are restrictions to a King or Queen

Pros

  • No elections
  • Decisions are made quick
  • Best interests for the people are in mind

Cons

  • Citizens don't have a choice in the chain of command
  • Expensive Lifestyles make the people pay up
  • Not all next heirs are prepared enough to be a leader of a huge population

Russian Revolution/ Civil War - This revolution happened in February and October. Which both conquered different things

1. It gave power to Vladimir Lenin

2.Got Russia out of World War 1

3.Led to the fromation of the Soviet Union

4. Left wing Socialists

This revolution had masacred the monarch family to change their form of government

  • Increased attention on education
  • end of Autocratic ruling

Cons

  • Led to a cold war at the end of WW2
  • Many were massacred for not sharing the same beliefs as the higher power
  • Secret police were everywhere
