Law of Detactchment:

If p leads to q and p is true then q is true

Law of detatchment example

I make cakes every weekend. Today is Saturday.

This has no conclusion, therfore this is invalid.

(Correction) If it is the weekend, then I will make a cake.

We can see that q is true because p is true

Law of syllogism:

Rule-If p-q and q-r, then p-r

If the following two statmements are true Then we can dirive that the thrid statement is true

Law of syllogism example

(Statement 1) If a student gets an a, then the student studies.

(Statement 2) If a student studies, then their parents will not be proud.

(COnslusion) If a student gets an A, then their parents will not be proud.

(corection) if the student studies, then they will get an A.

(statement2) If they get an a, then their parents will be proud.

(conclusion) if the student studies, then their parents will be proud

(statement 1) If I dont have a pen, then i cant take the test.

(statment 2) If I cant take the test, then I will fail.
