Throughout its long life, the Museum was successively housed in the upper cells of the Convent of Santo Domingo, in the Manzana de las Luces and some buildings in the Monserrat square, until finally settling in 1937, in the building it occupies today.
It was built according to the architectural canons and museological concepts in force in the first half of this century. This makes it, even today, one of the few Argentine Museums that has a building designed for its specific function.
The disposable exhibitions in this museum are; Antártida, Anfibios y reptiles, Artrópodos,
Aves, Geología, Malacología, 200 años de Historia, Mamíferos actuales, Buenos Aires, un millón de años atrás,
Osteología comparada, Paleontología, Mirada infinita, Misterios del Mar and Mamíferos Africanos
