  • 24 emergency interventions in restoration and conservation carried out by a French expert and the 20 craftsmen from Lalibela. The materials needed were mostly purchased in Lalibela or at least in Ethiopia.
  • Training delivered to 20 craftsmen from Lalibela to restoration skills by working on the emergency interventions directly and inspired by local knowledge. Constitution of a craftsmen team specialized in restoration and conservation of monumental heritage, able to work on other sites.
  • Valorization by settling a new electric and lighting system in the rock-hewn churches’ complex. In addition, paving works will be carried out.
