Lord and Lady Macbeth have presented alibis for each other, and the guards, servants, and the porter were drunk as skunks even three days later, they had no opportunity.

Detectives Menzies and Maddison, hired by Crown Prince Malcolm and Prince Donalbain. Arrive at Castle Inverness to investigate.

May 25, 1905

King Duncan is stabbed to death in Castle Inverness.

June 9, 1905

Macduff has been found with a bag and dagger covered in blood. He denies knowing of said dagger, but it is too great a chance that he is guilty.

June 1, 1905

June 30, 1905

The case has closed! Macduff has been imprisoned, and we are going back to Stoke-On-Trent for a much needed vacation!

We have gathered all residents locations, many have made the Suspect List. Leading suspect is Lord Macduff. Doctor Larson, our forensics expert, has analyzed hair samples next to Duncan's body, a fingerprint found on his silk nightshirt, which is unclear; however, there is another, which is complete.

INTERVIEWS

Lord Macduff: Thane of Fife

" I do not know why this dagger is in my bag. When I entered the castle to rouse the king, Lady Macbeth took my bag and hung it near the door. After I found out what happened, I went to the nearest tavern and drank my sorrows away. On my way I encountered some wolves, I don't really know how I escaped. Oh, yes, I remember having a knife, but I really do not know anything about the dagger."

Introduction

ABOUT CASE 2

Who? Macduff

What? He is innocent??? Find the real killer!

When? May 25th, 1910

Where? Prison Barlinnie, Cell Block D, Cell 24

Why? to be determined

CASE 2 EVIDENCE

The bloody 'M' on the wall may not have meant Macduff; many residents' name's start with an M. Duncan's autopsy revealed hair under his nails, something that was unreported in 1905. A size nine shoe print was found along with a fingerprint at the doorway of the room, Macduff is size eleven. This has a high chance of exonerating him from this case.

CASE 2 TIMELINE

Timeline

November 28, 1910

October 30, 1910

December 17, 1910

In homage to the late Queen, work was been forbidden until the 21st. Nothing interesting happened. The Lady's death appears to be foul play. We believe she was suffocated with her pillow and was too weak to fight back, no DNA residue under her nails. Macduff has also passed away, we arrived in time to tell him that we know he isn't the killer, and the fact that we are closing in on the real murderer. May his soul will rest in peace.

Old Isla's information has led us to discover Dr. Larson's treachery, the old forensic evidence clearly sent us down the wrong path. We have narrowed the suspects again, we no longer suspect the guards, servants, and Crown Prince Malcolm alibi has been found. Leevil, Roy's drinking partner, was drinking with him all night. Would have saved us a lot of time.

All members have been found, Prince Donalbain decided a month-long honeymoon was in order. Young people these days. After many attempts, all suspects are under one roof. We have found two new suspects, Old Isla and Leevil.

October 18, 1910

December 4, 1910

Macduff, former thane of Fife, calls for the detectives from his deathbed. A false imprisonment, is he innocent? We must locate the old suspects and inhabitants of Inverness from five years ago.

Old Isla, a withered woman, Lady Macbeth's Nurse/Maid is interviewed, she knows almost enough to close the case...

December 29, 1910

November 15, 1910

Lord Macbeth has been arrested for the murder of King Duncan and Lady Macbeth. She was killed for her increasing memory lapses, confusing 1910 with 1905, accidently helping to expose King Macbeth. His wife and partner in crime, Lady Macbeth, has been stripped of her title as she is already dead. Macbeth is sentenced to life in prison. Cell Block F, Cell 66. Leading Prince Malcom next to throne. Just in time for Hogmanay!

Lady Macbeth is dead, one suspect down, many more to go. She died from her five-year depression in her sleep, no foul play suspected. A discrepancy has been identified. Must look into that later on...

INTERVIEWS

Macduff the 2nd time (death bed)

I'm sure you're wondering why I asked YOU here of all people. It has been five long years, and here I am, dying. (Why DID you ask for us?) My time is short, and you need to know the truth before it is done. (Pause) I did not kill King Duncan! (Gasps) (And WHY should we believe YOU?) I have nothing to gain by telling the truth. I will die regardless. My heart is still loyal to Duncan, and letting his murderer run free betrays that loyalty. Lady Macbeth took my bag when I arrived, I did not see it until the wolves attacked me. I was not asked for my alibi, a grave error, and I pulled the dagger from my bag, which Lady Macbeth returned to me before I left for the tavern.

I know I have no proof other than my word, but my loyalty to King Duncan is without question. Find the true killer and bring him to justice.

CASE 2 INTERVIEWS

Isla, Lady Macbeth’s Nurse/Maid

I served the Lady Macbeth for the five years after Duncan’s death. Her grief for the king made out impossible for her to sleep. She had night terrors, nightmares but far worse. She would scream of ‘The One Who Does Kill Sleep’.. The Lord would always come to calm her down, washing her hands seemed to help too. She lost it one night, he came in and she wouldn’t let him touch screaming that he shouldn’t have done it, that she should never have held the a’cursed things .. I think this was her way of coping. You see, her father died when she was a girl, she never recovered from it then. Duncan died much the way he did, stabbed by a dagger isn’t the same as the heart stopping, but she never was the same. If she did sleep, she slept walked the full night, I would find her all over the castle. It got to be I would sleep during the day to spend the night up to watch her. I was shocked the night Duncan was killed, we had both indulged in a few, if you know what I mean, and I slept the full night. When I woke up, the Lady was asleep in her bed, then the bell started ringing, and the whole castle woke up.

CONCLUSIONS

CASE 1 CONCLUSION

We have found Lord Macduff of Fife to be guilty of the murder of King Duncan. Duncan was stabbed to death in his guest bed chamber at Castle Inverness. Lord Macbeth, cousin to the king and owner of Inverness, is soon to be crowned King.

CONCLUSION

CASE 2 CONCLUSION

Lord and Lady Macbeth are the true killers of King Duncan. They framed Lord Macduff, who’s release is pending, and drugged the guards and servants responsible for Duncan’s safety. The dagger found in Macduff’s possession was planted there by Lady Macbeth, who had taken the satchel earlier that day. The bloody ‘M’ on the wall, finger and boot prints, and Lady Macbeth’s dream walking all point towards Lord AND Lady Macbeth. It has also been discovered that Doctor Larson has withheld information from his reports. The fingerprint from the nightshirt is complete. It is a match to Lord Macbeth!
