It is a point of reference - students like to be able to easily find all assessment info and materials used in sessions there.
They like clear structure and visuals as they help them navigate the page better.
They are not too keen on interactive activities in Moodle, they much prefer external interactive activities (such as TEDEd, Typeform, etc.) - because they just need to open up a link top access them, and they look better visually.
I have been using Moodle in teaching since 2013 and my Moodle pages have been voted well structured and useful (by UNIC students and management). I have also recently completed a Designing for the 21st century module on UoN MA Education.
1. Introduction to MODULE (Forum, Module Guide, reading list, etc.)
2. Assessment (brief & criteria, deadlines, submission point (Turnitin)
3. Weekly activities (session materials, etc.)
4. Additional info/materials (i.e. referencing guide, etc.)
All MATERIALS on Moodle have been uploaded by former tutors. They may still serve, but if they don't, you can either HIDE or DELETE them.
