¨Irving and Curry, 1 on 1, Irving puts it up. IT'S GOOD from way downtown! And the Cavaliers by 3!¨ This was said in the 2015-2016 NBA season, Game 7 of the NBA Finals. A game between the Cavaliers and the Warriors. With this shot Kyrie Irving won the game for the Cavs, but not without some defense from the rest of their team. I will be explaining how the game of basketball spread and why people love it so much.

People play it for a lot of different reasons. If you make it all the way to a professional league then a lot of financial gain can be earned. People also play it because its fun and it also helps them through childhood abuse.

Many children use this sport as an outlet, you don’t need anyone to practice the sport of basketball. Many children who are abused feel alone in their life, and basketball brings joy to their lives. They could even form long time relationships with this sport. For example, a great 2 way NBA superstar guard by the name of Jimmy Butler had a really rough childhood. He was abandoned by his father shortly after he was born. Then at 13 he was kicked out of his home by his mom. Signed by Nike expansion Jordan Brand. He really takes Striving For Greatness to a whole other level. He is known for his incredible work ethic and excellent discipline.

The benefits for this to professional basketball players is huge. Thirdly, It’s the most paid job in the U.S according to The Balance Careers. This sport pays, so all the hard work and dedication definitely pays off. Players could support their families, families that could’ve been less fortunate. They also could use this money to support charities.

A reason a lot of people play it though, is because it´s a lot of fun. Players would not do this if they did not think it was fun right? You get to gain new friendships from it that make it a lot funner.

The history of basketball, the start of the leagues, and the impact of basketball are all very important factors that make the game so great. The game is really important to a lot of people. A lot of people make bonds over it. It is a fun game that many others enjoy.
