1. College Building, 1893

The first building built was named the college building in 1893. This building was used for classrooms, food service, and dormitories.

This was the first all boys dorm built on campus in 1894. It was later renamed North Dormitory

The Mechanical Building was built in 1895 and was later renamed to the Crosby Building, named after the first president of the university.

South Dormitory, 1900

South Dormitory was completed in 1907, it was designed by Professor Adam Watson. It was later renamed Old Vanstory Hall.

Noble Hall was built in 1922 and named after Marcus C. S. Noble. It is home of the School of Nursing

Murphy Hall was built in 1924 and was named after one of the former legislators in North Carolina. It was once a dining hall, but now is jome of the Office of Student Affairs.

Morrison Hall was constructed in 1924, and was named after Cameron Morrison. It was originally a residence hall for men but now houses women students.

Dudley Memorial Buildin was built in 1930 and is named after the second president of the university.

The President's House, otherwise known as The Oaks was constructed in 1949. It was once the official residence of the presidents and chancellors of the university.

Curtis Hall was originally built in 1951 and was a residence hall for women. It was named after Austin W. Curtis.

Scott Hall

Scott Hall was built in 1951 and was named after North Carolina's 62nd governor, William Kerr Scott. This residence hall was built to relieve a housing shortage and housed 1,100 male students

Benbow Hall was named after W.D.C Benbow. It houses the Department of Human Environment and Family Science.

Campbell House, 1955

This building was built in 1955 and is home for the R.O.T.C. It is named for Captain Robert Campbell who reyurned to campus after World War I.

Moore Gymnasium was built in 1955. It was named after Charles Henry Moore.

Crosby Hall, 1970

Crosby Hall is named after the first president of the university, John Oliver Crosby. It was built in 1970.

Gibbs Hall

Gibbs Hall was constucted in 1980 and named after Warmoth Thomas Gibbs. The departments of history, political science, criminal justice, sociology, and social work are all housed in Gibbs.

Webb Hall was built in 1982 and is named after Burleigh Carlyle Webb. Webb Hall is a research facility for laboratory animal science and agriculture

February One Monument, 2002

The February One Monument was built in 2002. It was built to honor the four men who launched the lunch counter sit-in on February 1, 1960.

In my opinion, I think that North Carolina A&T should open another residence hall for students and name it after Chancellor James C. Renick. This is because most of the buildings on campus are already named after someone important to the history of A&T.
