The first device identified as a gun, a bamboo tube that used gunpowder to fire a spear, appeared in China around AD 1000. The Chinese had previously invented gunpowder in the 9th century.
what was it used for when first invented and how do we use it today in modern society
what is it used for
back in AD 1000 the first considered gun (a bamboo tube) was used for hunting animals and killing other human beings.today as the gun has modified into AR-15's and m-16's and so forth are still used for hunting and combat.
what are some of the innovations this artifact has undergone since its original invention
inovatoins
the first "gun" was single shot which meant it only shot one shot at a time. over time the rifle came out like the kar-98 and more which were still one shot but they used actual ammunition. After the rifle came out the semi auto came out such as the m-110 m-14 and most pistols. Next the machine gun came out which means full auto. this includes the m-2 browning, m-27 IAR,and m-60.
how has the gun impacted society in a positive way
positivity
guns have impacted society in a good way because guns have made it easier to hunt and kill animals for the food most humans eat and have help people in dangerous situations for example an animal attack a human is more likely to live because they were able to defend there self easier compared to having to use a stick or knife.
how have guns impacted society in a negative way
negativity
people started using guns against other humans, and they started hunting endangered species like pandas and different types of rhinoceroses.
