Chicago/The City of Chicago
is the city with the biggest population of any city in
the state of Illinois.It is also the third most populous city in the United states (2,706,000).It has an area of 589.56 sq km.
It was settled around 1780 and incorporated as a city on march 4. of 1837.
Before it's settlement the area in which it was built used to be
inhabited by a tribe called Potawatomi.
Jacques Marquette and
Louis Jolliet were the people that were guided by Native Amerians to the land that would later become Chicago.In 1837,
William B.Ogden
became Chicago's first mayor,as Chicago was incorporated as a city.It's current mayor is
Lori Lightfoot.
