The D.I.K.A model is a model that is broken down into four pieces which are Data, Information, Knowledge, and Action.
These four phases when applied efficiently can instill improvement through any tasks no matter the size, process or decision. In all this model can be used as a guide to allow others to make better decisions and utilize managerial skills.
Data is the representation of reality it is a very important part in the D.I.K.A model because with data there are many things we can assume from it such as if the data that is collected is beneficial or could it be flawed/misinterpreted
Information is data that provides relevant clues or news. With Information you want to be aware of not overloading yourself with information overload. Lastly Information is important because it provides relevant and important information to organizations.
Through the use of Information the company that I work for took the data that they gathered about the virus and started to analyze the situation by breaking down each information they obtained to gather more clues about the virus and how it may impact the company and its workers
Knowledge is the framework or schema for organizing the relationships between pieces of information.
By applying their knowledge, the company was able to analyze all the data and information they gathered to see which data they gathered was credible or not. This allowed them to have a better grasp of the situation and what measures would be best to ensure that there plan for the company and its workers would be successful.
Action is the deeds or decisions made based on knowledge
After gathering all the information, the company need there plan of action was to send a mass email to everyone in the company discussing to them about the severity of the disease and there plans to counteract what was happening. There first plan was to ensure that all branches and different locations had proper supplies to keep themselves well protected from the disease. Secondly the company changed the way its drivers delivered equipment to different locations as well as how they would receive signatures from our on-site locations. Lastly the company set in place guidelines for employees who may feel sick and implemented measures they should take before retuning to work while creating a emergency plans if a location was to have a outbreak of the virus.
