New Additions/Furniture/ETC

- A couple years ago we had the opportunity to get brand new carpet, floors, desks, furniture, smart lab, science classrooms, etc.

Furniture

Expectations

-Due to us being given all of the nice and new things, it is important that we treat them with respect. Some things to consider:

-Do not draw on the desks, chairs, lab tables etc.

-Clean up spills on carpet and furniture.

-Do not lean back in the chairs, lift the desks up and down, etc.

- The wobble stools will be used in small groups. They are tools, not toys.

Technology

Technology

-This year the Class of 2030 will have 1 to 1 computers, that means you will each get your own devices. This comes with a great deal of responsibility for students. You are responsible for your computer, if something happens and your computer breaks there will be a fee to replace/fix it. This includes losing your computer.

-Your computer will be kept on a cart in your homeroom teacher's room.

- Fee to replace computer: $325

-There are additional fees to replace

chargers, screens, keys, etc.

Computer Expectations

Computer Use expectations

I will...

Only use websites and apps that are approved by my teacher

Remain on task while using the computer

WE DON'T DO FREE TIME IN 7th GRADE!!!!

Take care of my computer by...

Holding it with both hands when moving it

Closing the screen when moving it

Gently opening and closing it

Using care with the keys so they do not break

Not allowing food or drinks near the computer

Letting my teacher know right away when something is wrong

Respect my classmates and their computers by...

Helping them stay on task when on the computer (no gaming or chatting)

Leaving their computers alone unless my teacher asks me to help them

Using headphones when listening to anything

Not taking pictures or videos of anyone in the classroom without their permission and the permission of the teacher

Be respectful of all teachers and classmates when communicating on the computer.

Keep myself safe by…

Not giving out personal information on non-school websites

Staying away from websites and internet material that is harmful to me

Cellphones

-If we see or hear a cell phone then they are "ours". Even if we can see an outline of the phone in your pocket.

-The first offense will be a warning and your phone will be locked up in the office. You will be able to get your phone from the office at the end of the day.

-The second offense: Parents/Guardians will have to pick it up directly from the office.

-The third offense: You will then have to check your phone in to your homeroom teacher or the office everyday.

-You can check phones into us and we will have a locked cabinet. We suggest you do this since four different classes come in and out of these rooms. You may also keep them IN BACKPACKS but we cannot guarantee their security.

Bluetooth Headphones

Headphones

-Bluetooth headphones won't be allowed in class this year.

-Bluetooth headphones would be any headphone without a wire.

-If you bring them to school they can stay in your backpack or locked up.

-Headphones used in class must have a cord.

-We will confiscate wireless ear buds if we see them in class. We will treat wireless headphones the same way we do cell phones.

Bathroom Procedure

-One person at a time will be allowed to go to the bathroom.

-You may use the bathroom twice in your core classes. We have a long afternoon so you may want to go later in the day. You can also go before school, LOBO, and lunch/recess.

-Your teachers track this on the sign out sheet.

-If you need to use the restroom more than once you may trade minutes of your lunch recess.

-YOU CAN'T USE THE BATHROOM BETWEEN TRANSITIONS. You need to be signed out to use the restroom.

Bathroom and Water

Sign Out

Signing out to the Bathroom

-When you go to the restroom you will need to sign out with your teacher.

-Each class has its own sign out sheet that travels with your homeroom class.

-You need to keep your bathroom visits under

three/four minutes unless there is an emergency.

-You may also use the restroom at lunch/recess

and LOBO and during the classwide break during

HOWL at the end of the day.

Water

Water

-You have access to the water fountain in the hall this year. Only one person at a time may get water.

-Please be respectful of the space and don't make a mess.

-You are allowed to have a water bottle in class. Water bottles can be filled up in the hallway during bathroom or water breaks. You will not have an additional water break so make sure you get water when you use the restroom.

-Your water bottle may only contain water, no sports drinks, soda, etc.

-When using your computer you will need to have your water bottle on the floor so you won't get the computer wet.
