- 85% of the student population are “At Risk” this means: they qualify for Temporary Assistance for Needy Families, the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), what used to be known as “food stamps,” have been identified as homeless during the academic year, who are under the care of the Child and Family Services Agency (CESA or Foster Care), and who are high school students at least a year older than the expected age for their grade. This means that 85% of the families of the enrolled students are also at risk, they are impoverished.

PARCC is an assessment system in an annual year-end test in English language art/ literacy (ELA) and mathematics in grades 3-8 and highschool.

- All of the sp-ed students are in one class, however they rotate with my class.
- There are 11 boys and 8 girls in my class
- 17 of the 19 students in my class are “at risk” and their family’s are impoverished.
I teach math to all of the third grade students. I am currently introducing multiplication and division to the students along with fractions and decimals. The students mainly do Khan Academy to help them learn but we are also using the grouping method to teach division and multiplication.
