Whole module was affected by going online because of Covid19.
However, we still managed to do most of the things we planned.
Missing:
Artistic subjects were reduced.
Field trip to do beach cleaning.
Science experiments & diorama.
Successes:
We still managed to do some art.
Visitors from Parley!
The kids really loved the topic and started using the vocabulary. They were so enthusiastic and passionate about conserving nature.
Community, relationship, Interconnection, food chain/web, necessities of life, photosynthesis, classification of animals, consequences of our actions etc.
English: Finished JP1 and all the sounds. Many kids who didn't read at all when school started are now reading even sentences. Dictation and reading, reading comprehension through books.
Math: Kids are familiar with the thinking strategies we use for addition and subtraction: number line and ten frame. Most kids can explain how they came to an answer.
Dhivehi: Kids have learned new sounds, and because of online learning, also typing!
Everyone has learned a lot of computer literacy!
Parent engagement and collaboration has been excellent and we hope that it continues even after we return.)

Q: How has this new system affected the workload at home?
Q: Now that you have seen how we teach (although it is different online than in real life), what have you learned about pedagogy in Finland school? How would you describe it?
Q: How has this affected your relationship with your child's learning? Do you think it will have a long term effect?
