HubSpot Basics

HubSpot CRM is a place for you to store information on the people and companies you interact with and track your outreach efforts.

It is comprised of three main databases: contacts, companies, and deals

Log- A logged email is recorded on the recipient's contact timeline in HubSpot. (portalid@bcc.hubspot.com)

Track- Tracking an email gives you insight into how the recipient interacts with the email.

1. Edit columns or properties: click Customize > Edit columns or Edit properties to edit the columns that appear in the dashboard view (such as Name, Email, and HubSpot owner) or to edit the properties associated with each record.

2. Import records: click Import in the upper right-hand corner to import contact or company records. Learn more about importing here.

3. Create a contact: click Create contact or Create company to create a new contact or company record.

4. Create saved filters: click + Add filter to create a new filter or click All saved filters to open the saved filters that you have previously built.

  • Navigate to Deals
  • Click Create deal
  • Enter deal details
  • Associate your deal with contacts and companies
  • Choose a pipeline
  • Choose your view
  • Create and edit deal properties

Tasks

Tasks

Task name: click on the name of your task at the top of the box to type a new name. Then click Save.

Associated records: add a contact, company, and deal record to associate with the task in the Associated records section.

Due Date: from the dropdown menus below Due Date, select a date and time for the task to be completed.

Email reminder: from the dropdown menus below Email reminder, select a date and time for a reminder email to be sent to the task owner.

Notes: add details about your task in the Notes field. Click Save to save any changes you make to specific notes.

Type: select a task type from the Type dropdown menu. You can select Call, Email, or To-do. Please note that at this time, customizing a task type is not possible.

Queue: use the dropdown menu below Queue to add the task to an existing task queue, or to create a new task queue. You can also choose None if you don't wish to add this task to a task queue.

Assigned to: select a user to assign the task to from the Assigned to dropdown menu.
