Definition: This is the original world of the hero

Bingo is taking a nap and Bluey is knitting. So precious.

Bluey Example:

Definition: The hero is given a challenge, problem, or adventure.

Bingo's dad invites her to help him deliver curry to his friend's house. Classic curry swap.

Step 3: Refusal of the Call

"Nooo! I just want to stay with my mum!" Bingo's motivator: Facepaint.

Definition: Our hero must be set upon the correct path. They often are reluctant because of the consequences if they fail. They need a motivator to get them started.

Step 4: Meeting your Mentor

Definition: Our hero encounters a wise figure who provides them with advice, guidance, or tools to better prepare them for their journey.

The dreaded magpie stalks Bingo and her dad at the park

Definition: Our hero has committed to their journey and has reached the entrance to the unique world they are entering. They are often met by a guardian of this world.

Step 6: Tests, allies, & enemies

Tests:

1. Bingo is unable to keep eye contact and falls over.

2. Bingo's dad is leaving for 6 weeks because of work. A new test & enemy.

Definition: Our hero meets new people and learns new rules within this strange world. They obtain valuable information they could've only learned by these interactions.

Ally:

Mackenzie's mom. She may stink at facepaint, but Bingo encourages her to be brave and to keep trying!

Step 7: The Approach

Definition: Our hero arrives at the most dangerous place, where they must enter in order to obtain what they desperately need.

Bingo's true quest was to find courage within herself. This would help her with any quest!

Step 8: The Supreme Ordeal

Definition: Our hero faces the threatening challenge they've been preparing for all journey.

Bingo shows how clever and resilient she is. She can overcome the magpie and her dad being gone for 6 weeks.

Step 9: The Reward

Bingo has discovered how brave she is and just how resilient she can be.

Definition: Our hero is able to seize the prize they have rightfully earned. This could be a number of different things.

Definition: The journey back may still be a dangerous one, but our hero, with their new reward, is able to persevere.

Not much of a journey back, but Bingo must still be brave and resilient when her father leaves for 6 weeks.

Bingo's dad finally leaves for his business trip. Will Bingo persevere?

Definition: Our hero has one final test. They must use what they've learned, or gained, to prove that they can be the person that they need to be. They display just how much of hero they actually are.

Bingo can handle any challenge that comes her way because she has gained courage and resilience!

Definition: Our hero returns back to the ordinary world. Things are different now. They experience a new normal because they posess gifts they didn't have before their journey began.
