She was a mathematics from the UUEE.
She born the decembre 8, 1919 in Oakland.
She death the 30 of July (Leucemia).
Julia Bowman as a child was a very sickly girl with many speech difficulties, because of this she had to spend all her primary education from home, but despite that she found one of her passions which was mathematics.
In high school I did study it at a high school in San Diego. She was the only girl in math and physics class, receiving that same year a Bausch and Lomb medal for best science student. After graduating, she began her studies to be a math teacher, then her father commits suicide by losing his savings due to the crash of 29. Despite that, they continue their studies thanks to their aunt. After finishing his studies, he moved to the university to study mathematics at the highest level. In 1941 he married Robinson with whom he studied number theory
When she married, he went on to teach statistics because it was forbidden for them to teach the same subject, the woman always resigned and Julia was no exception. In 1946 he began his doctorate at Princeton under the supervision of Tarski. Hers is the Robinson hypothesis; basic to solve the tenth Hilbert problem. In his work (An interactive method of solving games), She demonstrates a convergence theorem that is considered the most important in the Elemental Theory of Games. It contributed largely to the demonstration by Yuri Matyyasevich of the insolubility of Hilbert's tenth problem.
This problem was posed by David Hilbert a German mathematician, this problem was not solved 70 years later Martin Davis, Julia Robinson and Hilary Putnam
Dada una ecuación diofántica con cualquier número de incógnitas y con coeficientes numéricos racionales enteros:
Idear un proceso de acuerdo con el cual pueda determinarse, en un número finito de operaciones, si la ecuación es resoluble en números racionales enteros.
