Ares was most notably referred to as the God of War; he represented the unpleasant aspects of battle.

Father: Zeus.
Mother: Hera.
Brothers: Hephaestus.
Sisters: Hebe and half-sister Athena.
Uncles: Hades and Poseidon
Children: Phobos, Deimos, and Harmonia
Ares Family
As the god of war and violence, Ares was the personification of the bloodlust and cruelty that took place during battles.Ares didn't much care who won, he just wanted people to fight and kill each other.
How Ares Became a God
Perseus ultimately stabs Ares in the chest with one of his own knives and when Ares is finally weakened, Perseus impales Ares with Zeus's Thunderbolt, killing him.
