The plan to build

The pyrmid was built in order to house the dead king for his journey into the afterlife.

5.5 Million tons (5,500,000,000 kilos) of limestone would have been used in order to build this massive structure so they would have to have masive quarries and a way to move them

The AFTERLIFE

The afterlife was a belief that after the pharoah died there would be a reincarnation and the pharoah would become a human in the afterlife. 100 slaves were sacrificed so they could also be servants for him in the afterlife. in the tombs there would be food chariots wepons and lots of things needed for survival.

THE AFTERLIFE

The Quarries

Now I am going to tell you a fact that might surprise you but the people that built wern't slaves but farmers or skiled workers and why this is important. well it is because that you might get the wrong idea when i say that the workers at the quarries were treated well and had good lives so don't be surprised. but at the quarries was good, the quarries that quarried the rock use copper or bronze tools and they were made with such precition that you coundn't put a credit card between the stone went they were placed

The Quarries

How they would move the blocks

They way the Blocks for the pyramid is still a mystery today but there have been some theorys about how they wher to been moved like .

  • They use boat to transport the blocks
  • They put floats on the blocks and sent them on the nile to the constrution site

There are many ideas and theorys but most historyons beleve that the river nile was used to take the blocks

How The Blocks Were Moved

The constrution

The constrution of the Pyramids came in three main parts

  • Finding a stable place to build the foundation on like bedrock

CONSTRUTION

  • Setting a stable and flat foundation
  • Building the pyramid

Finding a foundation to build on

The first thing you would need to do to build a pyramd was to find a good rock place to make the foundation perferible a hard stone like bedrock. A hard rock foundtion is requierd because if it was a soft rock like clay the foundation would colapse from the strain from holding the pyramid up there for colapsing the pyramid

Finding a foundation

Making the foundation

Setting the foundation

The next step for making the pyramds was to set the foundation by leveling and flatering the all ready choses foundation. they do this by making a moat around the pyramid bace and the workers would cut the stone where the water marks didn't show. But to make shore that the bace was truly flat they had a tool called an A frame and what they would

do was put the A frame on a boat and the mark where the string holding the ball up would be and if the string was on the mark the builder would know the bace was flat.

Building the pyramid

The last and finale step was to hall the big blocks in to place and this was no simple task to do this becuase the blocks were heave like a cuple of tons, but even though the blocks were heave the egyption place them so well that there was hardly any blocks that stuck out from the line. But as the pyramid got higher so did what ever the egyption uses to get the blocks up to the top and when it was done the pyramid had a golden cap put on top with the outer blocks white lime stone and it would have shone in the sun light.

THE CHAMBERS

there are 3 chambers the

  • kings chamber
  • the queens chamber

THE CHAMBERS

  • and the and the grand gallery which was more of a suport chamber.

The Kings resting place

The only things scientists found was a granite sarcophagus. Grave robbers probably ransacked the tomb before but it is posisable that this camber was a decoy camber and the real cambor is still hiden.

Kings Chamber

The ''Queens last resting place''

There was actually no mummy in the queens chamber because khufu had induvisual pyramds built
