Early Signs of labor

  • Cervix begins to Dilate

Explanation: Helps allow the baby move into birth canal

  • Water Breaking

Explanation: When your water breaks it is a sign that your amniotic sac has ruptured .

  • Fatigue and Nesting Instincts

Explanation: you feel tired because you're growing a baby. In addition to hormonal changes, physical and emotional changes also lower your energy levels and make you feel fatigued.

  • Contractions: A contraction is when the muscles of your uterus tighten up like a fist and then relax. Contractions help push your baby out

  • Water breaks: Baby has been growing in amniotic fluid.

  • Bloody Mucus Discharge: Your cervix and other muscles are highly vascular. Meaning it has a lot of blood vessels. which may cause brownish- pink discharge.

  • Nesting instinct: when you want to get things organized in your home to get ready for your baby.

Newborn

Skin can be a dark red to dark purple when it is born and slowly turn into it's normal color. When baby starts to breathe that when it turns red and by the first day it should fade to it's normal color.

New born face can be puffy and eyes can be swollen up to 2-3 months.
