What Should you do?

Empxtrack organization is one of the largest retail stores chain with around 100 retail stores in different locations and plans to expand further to more than 200 stores across the country.

  • At the time, the organization worked with a centralized Human Resource Department located in the main office. 
  • The senior HR Manager at the client side revealed that there were many administrative and HR issues with the retail store sites. 
  • The main problem faced by the HRM is that there was no mechanism to track the leave data of employees. Employees did not know their exact leave data.
  • At the end of the year it was revealed that some employees have taken excess leave while some employees worked incessantly, creating frustration among staff.
  • What would be a proper solution to this problem?

You are the Director of Employee Relations and your company employs approximately 1,500 people

within an extensive network. Services are the main activity of the company. The staff turnover is at the level of 5-6% per year. The average wage comes to KD 750.

In the present state of affairs, the company is experiencing a period of rapid growth so is hiring about 10-15 people monthly in various positions. At the moment, there is not any adequate system of non-monetary motivation in the company.

Here comes the task:

1. Suggest some non-monetary incentive system for employees

2. What steps will you take and what resources will you need to implement the planned program ?

3. What pros & cons for the company employees do you see in the proposed program?

You are the HR Team of General Motors & the company is going through a recession; a big drop in demand occurred which resulted in a decrease in revenue. The company doesn't need 300 of its employees.

Develop a Strategy to cope with this as a team.....

How are you going to communicate this to the staff without affecting the morale of the company?
