Introduction

The Liberation War,which betided in 1971, demanded for the independence from Pakistan. Pakistan had a division of 1000 miles between two parts, East and West. The eastern portion of the Bengal Province was mainly called the East Pakistan, which is now Bangladesh. Although both parts of Pakistan comprised a majority of Muslims, the people of East Pakistan desired for independence and their own sovereign nation due to cultural and ethnic differences. In March 1971, the leader of Bangladeshi rebels, Sheikh Mujibur Rahmanfinally declared a war of independence. In response, West Pakistan sent a military unit to put down the rebellion, officially beginning the conflict of the Bangladesh Liberation War
