The Picture of Dorian Gray is set in Vicorian England. The main characters are Basil Hallward(the painter), Dorian Gray(Basil's mode), Lord Henry(poisonous influence to Dorian, Sybil Vane(a young actress), James Vane(brother of Sybil Vane), Alan Campbell(scientist), and The Duchess of Monmouth(member of Lord Henry's social set). The main conflict is Dorian's self consciousness and his reconcile to bodily decay recorded in his portrait.

- Dorian shows Basil the painting and he is barely able to recognize Dorian
- People start to notice Dorian's youthfulness
- Lord Henry gives Dorain a book, and he becomes obsessed with it
- Changes in the portrait occur
- Dorian breaks Sibyl's heart and his love of Sibyl.
Climax
Dorian starts to resent Basil and ends up killing him.

- After Dorian Gray murders Basil, he goes to the opium den to try and help relieve the stress and guilt that he feels.
- He is then hunted down my James Vane but escapes.

Resolution
- Dorian wishes to be good and normal again, so he tries to destroy the portrait.
- In doing so, the portait goes back to normal, but it backfires, destroying Dorian's own soul. He then dies and the sins from the portrait appear on him.
