Summary

Summary

Once there was a boy who worked at the mine of rome. He had a sister named livia and a mother who was sold away while he was young. Once he heard rumor about ceasers cave so he went to find it.

After the journey he found ceaser bulla. While he tried to leave he found a griffin which started to fight. While they fought the cave that they in collapsed. Soon Nic rode the griffin out of the cave and reached some vinyards. At the vineyards he met crispus and senator Valerius. senator Valerius told Nic to go back. When he was back Sal got really mad at him but calmed down but soon Nic was deported to rome. Nic soon met his new owner named Felix. Felix took nic to Rome in a carriage. there was a gaurd named Aurelia.

During the ride to Rome Nic and Aurielia talked about family. When they reached Rome they went to Felix's apartment. At Felix's apartment they talked about how Radulf wants the bulla and power of Rome. Soon Nic and Ceala have to go to the games. At the games Felix turns Nic in to the empire so Nic has to participate in the games. Soon Nic is thown into the amphitheatre to fight the gladiatior but instead of fighting he tries to escape by riding ceala but he lets out his power so he shakes the entire amphiteatere and escapes to the river. Nic soon goes to the sewers where aurelia lives . Nic tried to talk to aurelia but radulf used his magic to attack the sewers so then Aurelia and Nic both went to Ceasers temple. they stayed there overnight until crispus came and took them to his home. crispus soon stated to train Nic to control his magic. One day Nic went to go get Ceala but radulf attacked him with magic.

They talk about how to destroy Radulf. Aurelia dissagrees until Nic finds out he is the daughter of senator horatio. Senator horatio takes away Nic to fight Radulf. During the fight valeruis tries to tell that Nic has the keys of mailce so after the fight Nic and Radulf both get arrested but Nic escapes and Radulf kills the emporer.

A meaningfull connection I made was that when I went to india and saw huge forts I realized that they were huge compared to the roman forts and that most ancient civilizations have fort or ways of protecteing their city.
