An island in the South Pacific Ocean near Australia. With a population of roughly 2,000 people, this island is full of people of all races that immigrated from mostly Australia but also all over the world. Founded by me, the island since has settled and immigration here has been proven hard. You cannot gain citizenship unless you know someone who lives here. Vistors are allowed but limited. The temperate climate and perfect soil allows for agriculture to thrive. Hemp plants are the number one commodity on the island. The isolated island has one small airport and a shipping dock and one credit union. The democratic political state and socialist economy governs their whole life. Most people live in co-ops which is how most institutions and organizations are ran. Most of the island is rural farmland and housing but there are communal villages that have businesses, especially around the main hemp manufacturuing factory.
As mentioned before the people who live here have all different backgrounds that contribute to their society. The main color of alot of things like park plaground equipment is green, and so are the clothes they wear, but self-expression is encouraged when it comes to shades of green and accesories like jewlerly. A large portion of their clothes are made from hemp textiles but they are also allowed to pick clothes to import. The official language is English and most either have an Americanized or Australian accent. They are very social people and are known to be very respctful and live thoughtful lives.
A a macro level this society opperates off of the ideals of a democratic socialist soceity. Socialism is described as advocacy for social ownership and mangement of means of production, exchange, and distribution as well as promotes an alternative vision of communal harmony (Philosophy of educaiton: An Encyclopedia). At the micro lens, politically GGI is a democatic socialist society. Although I am the original founder of the island, other leaders are elected through democratic voting. Despite having a small government, the ciitizens trust and respect the people they elect.

On this island there is one sherrif whwo is elected and one jail house. There is no military needed due to the small size and isolation. Despite these people are allowed to bare arms and protect themselves. All weapons are made from local resources or imported. There is no court system but voting can take place in instances with murder or incest because things like stealing do not occur often due to the comunity and reasources already provided to live. Voting takes place to decide the best way to handle the crime commited. Some examples of voting that has taken place is pedopehlia offense and they voted on them being placed in jail and not given any hemp, jobs, or activies to do. Censorship isn't a big thing here because they appreciate knowledge and the truth. Kids do have some controls on social media but social media is not used often here.

GGI has a socialist economy ran off of solar power. A co-operative is where an organzaiton such as housing, working environements, and finicaial organizaitons are owned and controlled by the people working for, living, and using. Co-ops are the norm including the one big hemp factory where manufacturing for hemp occurs where they produce thc, cbd, and lots of other hemp by-products. The governemnt helps and funds all co-opps. While the main commodity is hemp, lots of farms propduce other goods and services. Some products and goods include their own veggies, fruits, poultry & eggs, cheese (no cows on the island, but goats and etc.), fishing, and a local winery that infuses wine with hemp byproducts.
On the island, there is currency just like US dollar, but all paper money is made from hemp. The financial institution found on the island is a credit union, but a majority of monetary funds can be found digitally for international transfers while trading and importing goods and services.
The island although isolated has many connections to the outside world. Trade a a large part of how the society survives. Due to hemp being the number one crop, lots of products can be made from the one plant. THC, CBD, textiles, ropes, and even just the plant are traded for essentials like pharmecuticals (not many because the main drug is made from hemp), technology, clothes, and timber. A majority of goods are imported by ship, but a small amount can be imported by plane if required. The main mode of tranportation on the island is by motorized bike, regular bikes, animals like horses, and walking. They are working on getting trains powered by solar energy.
-People of all ages are encouraged to help within co-ops and learn socialization through that.
-At 18 they are to start their journey to decide what job they want to do.
-Further education is requried for jobs. Just like a trade school here in the US.
-Businesses that exist are either hostels for vistitors, all the different kinds of farms (agricultural and others), recreational spots, shipping dock, airport, environment sustainbility, and the government.
-Any job is achievable for anyone.
-Citizens are compensated for skill level and time spent at a job. This does not come to be an issue though because most things are shared with everyone and they all communally help eachother
-Long work weeks but parents, and those with disabilities are rightfully compensated enough to meet the living standards of the island
-Relaxation is encouraged and scheduled in by government
The education and health of the citizens of GGI are guided by the government. From a young age respect and how to live peacefully and in harmony with eachother is taught as an importance rather than being smart.
There is one hospital within the whole island but is small enough to provide the right care. This hospital and all treatments done are funded by the governemnt. Illness is naturally occuring from bacteria and foods, but also can be spread from foreigners visiting or transporting goods and services. Majority of healing is done through natural practices including marijuana and other hemp byproducts. There are not many doctors though. Aboritons and gender affirming care are normal and supproted parts of the healthcare institution.
-Children start school at 3 and graduate when they turn 18.
-School is taught in buildings like old school houses. One for each age range with multiple teachers to handle all different subjects and needs.
-Students are taught to farm, little about their history or global history, how to sustain life on the island, how to handle currency, and how credit works (unlike here in the USA)
-Further education is based on job and perosnal preference. People can learn more not taught in schools through online school programs from different countries.
Although this island sounds nice and perfect, in reality it has been proven to be difficult to execute. The manifest functions of my society are that poverty and social stratification is unknown to their life. The latent function of this type of governemnt and economy is how they don't recognize people's previous relgions and cultures which can cause issues. Disregarding differences and not recognizing that humans will be humans is dangerous. No society can be perfect and there will always be people who fall outside of the societies norms and laws.
