Scope of Political Sociology
Political Sociology is related to Decision-making process through public means. While discussing about the decision making process, it takes into account the social forces along with the economic factors which are controlled by forces such as money, market and other resources. Political sociology also analyses the
legitimate power of the decision makers in mobilizing control over those whom they are claiming their authority.
It is less concerned with the formal aspects of government and law, rather on the underlying support of these institutions in
Society

different types of organised groups in politics and the interactions among them. It also tends to highlight the impact of parties and movements in changing or bringing about stability in the political system.
Political sociology studies about the concept of political system. The purpose of the study of political system is to introduce enthusiasm in political analysis. It does not stress only on the study of the major structures of the government such as - legislature, judiciary and administration, but also other informal structures such as caste groups, relationship groups and formal organisations such as parties and interest groups etc. Political sociology while analysing the functions of various political structures of the political system adopted a structural functionalist approach

The study of power also includes studies on elites and their leadership styles.
