LEADERSHIP TRACK

Leadership Track

Leadership Development Program

CSS provides newly promoted leaders training opportunities in the areas of leadership and human resources. Leadership Development Program (LDP) curriculum offers a variety of foundational topics, practical skills and resources for the continued development of a participant’s leadership career. Experienced CSS managers through sharing of personal insight and real-life examples deliver LDP sessions. Pairing this training with human resource topics provides a comprehensive and holistic approach to equip new leaders with the tools required for a successful on boarding experience

SELF Certification Program

Supervisor Enhancement Leadership Forum (SELF) Certification was created for staff interested in developing their leadership skills for supervision. The evolution of the program directs the focus toward leadership skills that can be used in any position leading to increased career opportunities. Success in this program means that participants will be prepared to be leaders in any position they hold; have a plan for their career; and be competitive in recruitments.

LEAD

The LEAD track for our first-line managers focuses on examining the attributes of their role and how to successfully champion the CSS mission and vision, and manage resources to achieve department goals and objectives.

Effective managers make a difference in their workplace and positively influence their team. Managers must be able to lead their staff, develop trust to build relationships and equip their staff with the resources and tools they need to succeed.

LIFT

LIFT track provides a tailored curriculum to support the daily responsibilities and activities of our supervisors.

Supervisors are responsible for managing staff, administering policies, implementing procedures, delegating assignments/tasks, development of staff, team building, coaching and counseling, setting clear expectations, documenting staff performance in evaluations and improvement plans and support their manager in leadership duties.

We recognize the important role and responsibilities of a supervisor and the impact of their daily interactions with staff; especially when those responsibilities include providing excellent customer service and effectively managing caseloads. Supervisors greatly contribute to the organizational culture and team morale.

Annual Offsite Meetings

The all-day events are facilitated by a vendor (Dale Carnegie) and TCD. Themes and subject matter for the meetings are identified by CSS senior leadership based on feedback, surveys and critical leadership competencies and presented for Executive leaders’ sponsorship.

A critical component of CSS offsite meetings is experiential learning, centered on concrete experience, observation and reflection, forming abstract concepts and testing in new situations.
