BICS Usually will develop 6 months to 2 years. This happens when a family moves to the United States from another part of the country, but it takes 2-3 years to acquire.

BICS unlike CALP is found not to be cognitively demanding.

It is important to encourage our students to include English Language Learners. Student do not need to feel invaluable or uncomfortable.
