He orginally stated he saw a man resembling BG exiting the woods at the trail crossing at approx 3:10/3:15pm. His statement later changed to seeing Flannel Shirt Guy (David McCain). He is part of the couple that FSG told Derrick German he saw by the bridge.

Went to the trails on Feb 13, 2017 with her friend Shelby Duncan. She states she arrived at approx 2:49pm and knows this because she had a missed call from a telemarketer. She walked across the high bridge and took photos that she says she posted as she was leaving. When leaving she saw a car parked in mears parking lot that had two people inside around 4pm. Those two people are rumored to be Derrick German and his sister Tara German.

He left his Orange truck at the cemetery the morning of the 13th and was blocked in when law enforcement came according to his wife.

It was speculated he lost his keys according to a transcript/audio rcording of LE radio communicationswhen he was requested to move his truck. It has been said that his wife would be en route to deliver his keys.

It has been stated that his trucked remained at the cemetary for approx 26 hours.

He was also part of the search and was on the side of the creek the girls were found according to Becky Patty who states he was with her sister.

Kokomo Police have captured a man considered one of Howard County’s Most Wanted fugitives.

The Kokomo Police Department Drug Task Force and K9 unit conducted a traffic stop in the 1800 block of East Markland Avenue Wednesday evening.

They found Gabriel Ellis, 40, in the back seat of the car with a 16-year-old girl who had been reported as a runaway.

Ellis was arrested on a warrant for child exploitation and possession of child pornography.

During the search, police located a firearm and methamphetamine.

Ellis was also charged with dealing methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine, and felon carrying a handgun.

Gabe Ellis and Tyler Jo French were both drug dealers that were allegedly in the same drug ring as family members of both Libby and Abby.

On May 16, 2008, Derrick German and Prater stole anhydrous ammonia from Royster Clark, an anhydrous ammonia plant, in Carroll County.   German and Prater stole the anhydrous ammonia with the intent to sell it to a third party at some point in the future, although they had no one in particular in mind.   They assumed that the third party would use the anhydrous ammonia to manufacture methamphetamine.   German and Prater were apprehended by police shortly after the theft.

Hewitt had also been charged with Level 3 felony possession of methamphetamine, Level 6 felony resisting law enforcement (using a vehicle), Level 6 felony maintaining a common nuisance and Class C misdemeanor possession of paraphernalia.

In Sept of 2017 officers arrested Travis M. Jaenicke, 34, 300 block of West Grant Street, Greentown, in the 5800 block of Lance Drive, on charges of possession of a narcotic drug, a level 5 felony, possession of meth, a level 5 felony, and maintaining a common nuisance, a level 6 felony.

A stop for a defective headlight resulted in the elimination of a mobile methamphetamine lab Saturday night.

After being asked for his driver’s license and car registration, the driver, 29-year-old Robert J. Teschke of Peru, asked Frye to shine his flashlight in the vehicle so he could locate its registration. As he did, the officer observed three backpacks, a glass Mason jar and several empty one-gallon milk cartons inside the Geo.

Frye reported that Teschke appeared nervous and his hand was shaking as he handed the officer his license. Frye then called for Detective Travis Yike and his K-9 Hodo to come to the scene to perform a free-air sniff.

When Yike arrived, he and Hodo began to circle the car. Hodo stopped at the rear of the vehicle, alerting his handler to the presence of illegal narcotics.

As Yike began to search the car, Teschke reportedly told officers he “would save us time” and said there were narcotics in the car, Frye wrote in his report of the incident.

Yike found Coleman camp fuel and empty pseudophedrine boxes in one backpack and other precursors in another pack.

Teschke then told police “to ensure the safety of those involved” that the glass jar contained all the active ingredients to make methamphetamine except for lithium batteries.

Yike then called for assistance from the Indiana State Police Clandestine Lab Team to dispose of the lab.

Teschke was arrested on a class B felony charge of manufacturing methamphetamine and a D felony charge of possession of precursors. Feb 2011

The Cass County Prosecutor’s Office reports a Peru man was sentenced to 17 ½ years after pleading guilty to dealing in Methamphetamine.

CASS COUNTY, IN- The Cass County Prosecutor’s Office reports a Peru man was sentenced to 17 ½ years after pleading guilty to dealing in Methamphetamine.

Robert Teschke was arrested on January 14, 2020 when Cass County Drug Task Force made a traffic stop on East Wabash River Road for crossing the center line. When police searched Teschke’s Cadillac they found more than 24 grams of methamphetamine. Teschke will serve 12 ½ years in the Department of Correciton followed by 5 years on Community Corrections. This is Teschke’s second Dealing in Methamphetamine conviction.
