Carbohydrates:

Carbohydrates

  • Carbohydrates are also known as carbs.
  • The monomer for carbs is monosaccharides.
  • Elements contained- Carbon, Oxygen, and Hydrogen.
  • The functions are it provides fast energy, its also our main source of energy, and it provides a strucual purpose in our bodies.

Ex; Sugar, starchs, and glucose or any products that end in "ose."

  • Lipids are also known as fats
  • There's two groups known as fatty acids and glycerol
  • The elements that are in it are: Carbon, Hydrogen, and Oxygen.
  • The functions of this are it provided

stored/longterm energy, it's used as a "waterproofer", and is used for insulation.

  • Nucleic Acids are also known as DNA or RNA
  • It contains nucletides
  • The elements it includes are: Carbon, Hydrogen, Oxygen, Nitrogen, and Phosphorus.
  • The functions of this are it stores and transmits genetic info, it is also essential for making proteins
