Introduction

Introduction

In the old culture of Korean societies, people tend to believe that the biggest tree in the town protects them from ghosts and misfortune.

To maximize the effect of the tree, people hanged colored materials on the tree.

About my project

According to the superstition, each colours have their own meanings and effects.

Therefore, I used 4 colours,, which are black, white, red, and yellow.

My project

What black means..

Black

Black colour represents fear, dark, and death.

By using the black colour papers, it helps us to avoid those elements in our lives.

Secondly, White colour is Koreans' traditional colour, which represents their pure mind and politeness.

White

Third colour, red, which is believed by people, was used to evict the ghosts.

In the old Korean society, people used to eat the foods of red colour for the ssame purpose.

Red

The last colour, yellow, in the old Korean society meant noble, divinity, and majesty.

The use of this colour represents the people's mind that they wanted better life

Yellow

Finishing my project,,,

Project description

I ripped off the colour papers and used tapes to put it on the twigs.

Dr. Karen recommended Fernwood to find a proper tree for my assignment, but unfortunately, I could not get there. So, I had to visit another place to finish my assignment.

If Dr. Karen was not my professor, I would not be able to finish my project and even the course successfully.

So, I also prayed for her best of luck in front of my

savior tree.

I added the picture of that moment
