What is it, who is affected by, and where is firearm violence?
According to the CDC "'A firearm injury is a gunshot wound or penetrating injury from a weapon that uses a powder charge to fire a projectile.'" So firearm violence is just the act of giving someone a firearm injury.
suicide victims/attempted suicide victims
Accidental injuries
Homicide victims and committers (if thats even what they're called)
Legal users (cops/fbi eccetera eccetera and their victims)
Defensive Gun Use (anyone can do so and it consists of “it is generally defined as the use of a firearm to protect and defend oneself, family, other people, and/or property against crime or victimization.” (CDC)
Unknown intent (none of the above are true/no one knows reason)
Anyone can/will be a victim (men apparently account for 86% of deaths and 87% of nonfatal gun violence)
Like I said at the beginnig, this is AMERICAN firearm violence. But, this happens across the country.
Causes of firearm violence are wide, so here's three specific ones that are the most interesting.
“The United States is the country with the most civilian-held firearms. With less than 5 percent of the world's population, it accounts for 46 percent of global civilian gun ownership…This amounts to 120.5 firearms for every 100 people. The second-ranked country was war-torn Yemen, with 52.8 guns per 100 people. While the United States ranks first in the world in terms of both individual gun ownership and the number of guns per capita, only about 1.07 million civilian guns are registered, indicating that the vast majority of firearms owned by civilians are left unregistered and uncounted.” This tells us a few important things. Number 1, 52.8 x 2 is less than 120.5, so we have double the guns of second place silver medalist. Number 2, we have more guns than people. 20.5% more in fact. (Ish, I’m not going to do the math cause that’s boring)

(CDC GUIDELINES)
"Anyone can/will be a victim (men apparently account for 86% of deaths and 87% of nonfatal gun violence." Me with evidence from CDC. Now, how this pertains. These all are how some one will shoot their or someone else's eye out. And "The Christmas Story" definition is with an air rifle, which is not a firearm.
Mental health has been looked into with it's relations to firearm violence. With the suicide part, yes we can confirm, it does affect decitions. But no one is sure if it affects homecides.
Who is affected and are they affected. Animals WOULD be in here, but I'm focus on the human end, because firearm violence against animals is just hunting, and I don't see how those can be tied together so closly in this scena
Who is affected and how are they affected?
Usually in a social issue, people and animals are affected, but hunting isn't what i'm talking about. In Firearem Violence, anyone and everyone can be a victim.
Now, this is stupidly obvious, right, but here you are. People are dying
People are getting injured
KIDS are getting killed. Our KIDS. Our families. Our friends. Our friends' families. Our friends’ friends.
It’s mentally scarring to to our friends, families, or even ourselves. I doubt that one person reading this hasn’t been affected, at least to some degree, by gun violence.
This is pretty simple. People are dying. People are getting injured. KIDS are getting killed. Our KIDS. Our families. Our friends. Our friends' families. Our friends’ friends. It’s mentally scarring to to our friends, families, or even ourselves. I doubt that one person reading this hasn’t been affected, at least to some degree, by firearm violence.
A few possible solutions!
“The United States is the country with the most civilian-held firearms. This is more of my idea, but think about it for a moment. Finding the most common areas where firearm violence is, and add more law enforcement and suicide prevention centers. Maybe even have a police squadron or federal official group that goes to the most common areas of firearm violence and solve it there in some way.
Proper storage is a pretty simple one. The CDC says "Resources are available to help firearm owners consider the best options for safely storing firearms. For example, the Veteran’s Administration, in collaboration with the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention and the National Shooting Sports Foundation, has released Suicide Prevention is Everyone’s Business: A Toolkit for Safe Firearm Storage. This toolkit describes methods for safe storage and provides guidance to enhance safe storage practices in your community." You might ask me why this is here. Easy. Apart from suicide prevention, this also helps when cleaning your firearm. Say you have a firearm of some sentimental value or you use it hunt or something, you do you. But you care about this gun. So, one day you’re cleaning it and you forgot to turn the safety back on or something, and you end up shooting yourself straight in the face while cleaning out the barrel. You’re dead because you couldn’t follow a simple ******* manual. Or, your precious 5 year old kid finds it and they actually shot themselves, tell me, would you be able to forgive your self? Unless you aren’t a very good parent, you wouldn’t forgive yourself for the rest of your life and maybe into your next life after reincarnation as well. Now, I tried reading this maual, and the picture says it all.

Although the term “firearm” is used as synonym for the term “gun,” only those high-muzzle velocity firearms which need a crew to handle such as field guns, tank guns, and artillery guns like cannons and howitzers are referred to as guns. Guns are artillery weapons that may be portable or mounted.
